Cloudy Water

How do I prevent cloudy water?

Aeration causes flow in the water which swirls silt (if present) up in the water. The silt is broken down by micro-organism (which consume oxygen) over time. However, it may also be desirable that the silt bottom does not swirl up, this is fairly easy to overcome by less deep aeration and less airflow.
