Diaphragm pumps also called Membrane pumps, operate via reciprocating action of two diaphragms and valves on opposite side to produce an airflow. When the volume of a chamber is decreased, the pressure increases, and the air is compressed and forced out. At the same time the opposite diaphragm has increased the volume of the opposite chamber and outside air is sucked in via the air-filter. Now the movement switched and one side compresses the air and the other is sucking in the air.
