Side Channel Blower

Operating principle of a side channel blower.

A side channel blower has an impeller which rotates contact less but very narrow in a housing which generates high volume flows at reasonable under- or overpressure. There is no lubrication required and the bearings contain high temperature resistant grease. Elmo Rietschle uses efficient Siemens AC motors which depending on the model can run from 37 up to 100 Hz. Through very precise manufacturing the tolerances are very small which means the specified performance curves are close to practice. When there is lo pressure loss these pumps achieve high flow rates while using very little power. This is an important factor for choosing a side channel blower. The pump is widely used for the transport of hazard gases, and can be delivered in an ATEX proof version.
